The gunners have had many defensive problems this season as they have conceded way too many goals than expected but that has all been due to poor defense from Arsenal players.
The gunners had a defender in their January transfer window plans but the manager said that they had identified Jonny Evans but his team had overpriced him according to Arsene Wenger but it is reported that the gunners will be reuniting their interest in him in the summer transfer window because they have aging defenders like Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
The gunners will be preparing a bid for West Brom Albion defender in the summer because he would be a little cheaper than other top defenders in other clubs, and one he is an experienced player who would bring that filling to the young players at the Emirates stadium. Arsenal were not a club that would spend a lot on a defender in the past but that has changed because they even spent over £30 million to get Shkodran Mustafi.( Arsenal transfer target Evans / Getty)
This season is the last one for the gunners captain Per Mertesacker because he is going to move into coaching after the end of this season and he has already been given the assignment of coaching the Arsenal academy so it’s inevitable for the gunners to get a new defender who will replace the German international.
Jonny Evans is an outstanding player and is a proved defender even though he plays for a bottom table team but they will have a hard time trying to convince him to come to the Emirates stadium in the summer transfer window.
