Wenger Reveals What Was Main Difference Between 1st And 2nd Half Of Stoke Match
The gunners wrapped up the win against Stoke City in the 2nd half after scoring three goals in the last fifteen minutes of the match, the manager has revealed the main difference between the first half and 2nd half.
The gunners defeated the potters 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium yesterday thanks to a spectacular 2nd half performance from the Arsenal squad and their manager Arsene Wenger was impressed with the performance.
Arsenal came into this match knowing that they needed nothing but the three points because they would like to at least be in the top five on the Premier League table. Even though the gunners won, the fans were not impressed with the performance of the team in the first half because they failed to get a goal in the first 45 minutes.
Arsene Wenger says that the first half was a bit dull for the gunners because they didn’t have any pace according to the manager;
“I think the urgency, the pace of the team was different (in 2nd half). We lacked cohesion in the first half.’ said Wenger. “It was hit and go, really slow. In the second half, our pace was much better.”
Arsene Wenger was also indeed pleased about yesterday’s win because he is currently under pressure from the fans due to the club’s poor performance this season so the French manager wouldn’t wish to lose any more points in the remaining 7 matches.
The manager confirms that he was also a bit worried that his team was gonna lose the points when they failed to score in the first 45 minutes with few clear cut chances created.
