Arsenal confirmed Unai Emery as their new manager on Wednesday last night which marked a start to a new reign at the Emirates Stadium after Arsene Wenger’s resignation. The former PSG manager comes at the Emirates Stadium after he had also quit his job in France at PSG after a poor European performance with him in charge.
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has finally given out his say on the new manager since he had never made any comments on the new gunners boss but his overview isn’t optimistic like any other legends as he says that the PSG players ate him alive and says that he fears for Unai Emery.
Petit says that he didn’t have the personality to be a leader at PSG because he failed to control his dressing room in France.
“He was being eaten by the players and he didn’t have personality to be the leader. ” Emmanuel Petit told Metro Sport.
“Some at Arsenal can be the same but I hope they give him the chance. There was more quality and personality in the PSG side so it may be easier for him to make inroads with the personnel at Arsenal. ”
The new manager has already revealed that he wants to introduce a few changes to the Arsenal squad with one being hoping that the players could be pressing the opponents until they get the ball which will be hard for some players like Mesut Ozil who are not good at getting the ball from opponents.
Unai Emery comes at Arsenal to try reviving the form of the team after sixth finish in Premier League last season and he will be hoping to get in good terms with the players at the Emirates Stadium so that he does not face the same situation he faced at PSG.
