Arsenal Told Amount To Pay In Order To Get Steven Nzonzi
Unai Emery has already made his first signing but he is not yet done as he is also reported to be interested in Steven Nzonzi and Sevilla have told Arsenal how much they want from their player.
Unai Emery has been pretty busy in the summer transfer window and he has started by signing a defender but there were reports last week that the Spanish manager is interested in signing Sevilla defensive midfielder Steven Nzonzi.
Steven Nzonzi is a top versatile midfielder who has been a proven player for the past three seasons in the Laliga club and his performances have attracted a number of European clubs including the Arsenal team which is now being managed by his former manager Unai Emery who signed him back in 2015 when he was still at Sevilla.
Sevilla’s Director of Football Joaquin Caparros has revealed that the gunners would need to pay the player’s release clause of £35million if they would like to get the signature of the French footballer.
“Has Unai called you? Well as a successful man, Unai Emery knows what line the club keeps.” he told Radio Seville.
“If he wants Nzonzi, he will have to call and put the bid in and the bid is the clause. If you put that bid in, then there are no more negotiations over the fee. ”
The defensive midfield area is also among the positions which Unai Emery wants to revamp in this summer transfer window so signing a defensive midfielder is also among the new manager’s plans so Sevilla have made things simpler for him because he will need to spend half of the amount which the board gave him to get Steven Nzonzi.
Arsenal fans criticized Granit Xhaka after the end of the 2017/18 season so they will be happy if their club makes a move for the 29-year-old who would strengthen the gunners if he came to the Emirates Stadium.
