Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi s nearing the end of his current contract at the Emirates and it’s likely he will put a pen to paper on a long-term new deal.
Arsenal’s new manager Unai Emery does consider the Nigerian international as an important player in his squad and the Mirror claims that the 22-year-old will soon be signing a new deal which will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium until 2022.
Despite attracting interest from Lazio, AC Milan and Premier league club’s Everton, the Nigeria international is ready to commit his future to the Gunners.
Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have all penned fresh deals in 2018 and academy product Alex Iwobi will be next according to the report.
Arsenal fans will however be disappointed that the club is focusing on offering Alex Iwobi also new deal yet it hasn’t reached an agreement with Aaron Ramsey on the new deal they have given the Welsh international and he just got one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium which shows that offering him a new deal more important.
