Arsenal lost its first match of the season on Sunday when Manchester City defeated them 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, making Unai Emery’s reign at the North London club to start in disappointment.
It was Unai Emery’s first competitive match since he was given the Arsenal job in May and the Arsenal fans looked forward to this match because they were happy with the good spirit shown by the squad in the pre-season matches.
The gunners honestly lost the match against Manchester City because the defending champions had a better game plan than which Unai Emery had made and the Spanish manager confirms as this in the latest interview he had at the London Coloney as he says that their loss against Pep Guardiola’s men helped him get some more information on improvements which he needs to do.
“The first game gives us more information about things to improve and also things to continue doing.” he said.
“It’s clear that the result was the first objective we wanted, but it was Manchester City’s day.”
The reaction from the Arsenal supporters has also been positive because the criticism to Unai Emery has not been so much after their loss against Manchester City unlike in the era of Arsene Wenger, they would have already called for his resignation via social media.
The gunners will play its second match of the season on Saturday against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge and this will be a must win match for Unai Emery to win over the hearts of Arsenal fans.
