Ray Parlour Calls Unai Emery A ‘Winner’
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been labeled as a winner by gunners legend Ray Parlour who has been impressed with the actions by the Spanish international.
Arsenal brought Unai Emery to the Emirates Stadium after Arsene Wenger resigned from his position as the boss of the North Londoners after careful considerations according to him, the former PSG man is not a famous coach but his work has already been liked by some people like Arsenal legend Ray Parlour.
Arsenal played against Chelsea on Saturday and it was Unai Emery’s second competitive match since he was appointed as manager of the gunners but the gunners lost the match 3-2 after the blues got a winning goal, just nine minutes to stoppage time, Ex Arsenal player Ray Parlour has however said that he was impressed with the actions of Unai Emery like the decision to drop Aaron Ramsey from the lineup last weekend.
He also continues and says that Unai Emery is a manager who is very straight forward so where by you don’t perform, you are taken out and he says that he saw this on Saturday when the new Arsenal boss substituted Mesut Ozil during their match against Chelsea. Ray Parlour said that, this is something he never saw last year because the Germany international would play a full game even if he had under performed in it.
Ray Parlour has heaped praise on Arsenal’s new boss Unai Emery and even called him a winner due to the efforts he is putting in to make some changes to the Arsenal squad which has been poor in the Premier League for a long time.
“I watched Emery in training and I was impressed. It was very, very intense. He is right into the players, demanding high standards, every single pass has got to be right.” the Arsenal legend told the Metro.
“He was going one-on-one with players, trying to tell them what he wants but it will take time. Emery is a winner. He is really driving people and the players have got to adapt to him.”
Unai Emery has lost two matches this season but he will be hoping to get his first win this week when the gunners welcome West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium, this will be a tough match for both clubs because they all have 0 points.
