The gunners welcomed Pep Guardiola’s men at the Emirates Stadium today and the North Londoners were mercilessly defeated 2-0 and some of the Arsenal supporters believe that the manager made a mistake to start Petr Cech instead of Bernd Leno.

Petr Cech has been at the Emirates Stadium for the last three years but he has received criticism from the Arsenal fans since 2017 and they thought that their new manager Unai Emery was going to drop the Czech Republican international but got surprised to see him start today’s match.

The gunners completed the signing of Bernd Leno this summer and the signing of the goalkeeper was initiated by Unai Emery but the Spanish manager says that Petr Cech will continue starting in-goal for the North Londoners in the coming matches, and says that Leno should wait for his chance.

“Leno is starting with us. He is working very well, he played well in pre-season too but he has to wait for his chance to arrive.” the manager told Arsenal Player.

The Arsenal supporters will be disappointed with the statement by Unai Emery because they were hoping that Bernd Leno would be between the goal posts next weekend when the gunners take on their arch rivals Chelsea.

Petr Cech will however need to be at his best next weekend because the gunners will be facing his former club and he will be hoping to prove everyone criticizing him wrong as he continues his final year of his current contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Bernd Leno will however have to put up with playing in other competitions like the UEFA Europa League since Unai Emery has chosen Petr Cech as his first choice goalkeeper.
