Analysis: Danny Welbeck Has Improved This Season
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck arrived at the Emirates Stadium in 2014 and he has failed to make it to the first eleven in the years he has spent in London but he has improved this season.
Danny Welbeck has been at Arsenal for four years now and the Englishman has however failed to become a regular at the club because his form is usually ruined by injuries but he has however showed signs of impressing under Unai Emery.
Arsenal has many forwards and Danny Welbeck is Unai Emery’s third choice striker after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette but the former Manchester United star has shown that he is very clinical when in front of goal and has scored four goals already this season.
Danny Welbeck is among the players that are considered to have survived the recently closed summer transfer window yet everyone thought that he was to leave because he had spent four years at the Emirates Stadium without making an impact to be in Arsene Wenger’s first eleven. He has however always remained a passionate Arsenal player because he has never made any public statement saying he is un happy at being benched.
Danny Welbeck got his first goal of the season last month after he came from the bench to seal off Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham United. He was later selected in the starting eleven that played the Europa League match against Vorskla and he went on the score sheet as the gunners won the match 4-2, he was used on the wing in that game.
And now recently, he led the attack line of Arsenal when the gunners welcomed Championship club Brentford at the Emirates Stadium and he scored a double and he now has four goals in six appearances. Unai Emery wasn’t straight forward on if Danny Welbeck would be included in his first eleven but he did seem very happy with the performance of the Englishman.
So, Danny Welbeck must be improving because he clearly looks to be hungry for goals in the few matches he has taken part in. It won’t be a big surprise if this season ends when Welbeck has over 10 goals.
