Unai Emery Praises Arsenal Defender

Arsenal’s new boss Unai Emery has been at the Emirates Stadium for three months now and the Spanish manager has already identified the players which he is most impressed with this season.

The gunners have so far played four Premier League matches this season and the new Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said that he has been impressed with Nacho Monreal who has played in the left back position, the manager says that he is surprised that the Spanish international is still good despite being 32 years old.

Nacho Monreal currently doesn’t have a competitor for the left back position in the starting eleven because Sead Kolasinac is currently injured so the old defender has started all of Arsenal’s first four Premier League matches but surprisingly, there were reports earlier this week which claimed that Barcelona was interested in Monreal and that they would make a move for him in the January transfer window.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery faced the press on Thursday and he spoke about what he thinks of Nacho Monreal, and confirmed that he hopes that the defender signs a new contract as reported by the Arsenal Media.

“After two weeks, after two months and now, I can say that I am very happy with him because he is 32 years old but I think physically, with his performances with us in matches, he is playing with a very good level.” said Unai Emery.

“The rest of that, for me, is very important. I think we need to find a new contract with him to stay with the Arsenal team.”

Nacho Monreal also recently announced that he is in talks with Arsenal on signing a new deal and the fans will be hoping to see him do it soon because he has been impressive in the left back position for the North Londoners for six years.
