Report: Injury Update On Koscielny, Ozil, Welbeck And Others
Arsenal has given an update on the status of the injured players and most of them have returned to full training.
Arsenal will host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday and the gunners will come into this match with the aim of maintaining their position in the Premier League top four since that’s their target this season. A statement from the club on Arsenal.com has given an update on the status of the injured players.
Danny Welbeck was selected in the England squad that played the UEFA Nations League matches but the Englishman went home back after he sustained a minor hamstring injury. Arsenal has revealed that the striker has started full training, so he will probably be available for selection on Monday. Mesut Ozil has also returned to full training after he missed the previous match because of back spasm.
As in previous reports, Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny hasn’t fully returned to full training because his injury is very delicate and the gunners need to be careful with him as Unai Emery said. The club says that the French international hopes to start full training in November.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos got his right ankle bruised while on international duty a few days ago. The club has confirmed that the Greek international will be assessed by the medical specialists before he is cleared to play. Maitland-Niles has also returned to full training.
Petr Cech will also be assessed before the Leicester City match but he will probably not play because he has finished a long time without training due to the hamstring injury he got when the gunners faced Watford.Dinos Mavropanos is still out until November.
