Austin crushes Arsenal fans’ hearts and Unai Emery’s unbeaten run

Arsenal’s unbeaten run has finally ended today after Southampton have beaten them 3-2 thanks to a late goal from Austin who scored against the gunners as he always does. The Saints were the first to go ahead after Ings scored a beautiful goal after rising high to head the ball into the back of the net.
The gunners didn’t take long to respond as they also equalised after Nacho Monreal sent a cross to Henrikh Mkhitaryan who headed the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1 in the 28th minute. It looked like the gunners were ready to get their second of the day but wasted many chances as Southampton stayed at the back.
Laurent Koscielny was again at fault for Southampton’s second goal in the 45th minute as Ings yet again scored using his head to give the hosts the lead as the referee blew the whistle for halftime. So the second half started with the score line reading 2-1 and Unai Emery then decided to bring in Lacazette replacing Bellerin who got injured before they went into the dressing room at halftime.
Mkhitaryan luckily equalised for the gunners again as his deflected shot went past the Saints goalkeeper and the gunners then regained their momentum to look for a winning goal. They put pressure on the home side but failed to get past the well set up defence of the Saints, Unai Emery later introduced Mesut Ozil who replaced Alex Iwobi. Maitland-Niles also replaced Lichtsteiner.
The hearts of the Arsenal fans were then broken in the 85th minute after Southampton broke out on a quick counter attack which saw Austin score a great header past Bernd Leno. So Arsenal’s 22 game unbeaten run has been ended and there are some doubts on whether the gunners will be able to finish in the Premier League top four.
