Expected Arsenal lineup to face Qarabag
Arsenal has today welcomed Qarabag at the Emirates Stadium and they will come into this game with no pressure to win because they have already qualified to the UEFA Europa League round of 32. Unai Emery used a youthful squad against Vorskla a few weeks ago and the gunners won the match 3-0.
So Unai Emery is expected to use a youthful squad again against Qarabag and luckily for them this time, the match will be played at the Emirates Stadium. The gunners will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run today by either drawing or winning against the Azerbaijan side. So here is the expected Arsenal lineup to face Qarabag today.
Cech, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Medley, Lichtsteiner, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Willock, Ramsey, Smith Rowe, Nketiah
Goalkeeping:
It is no longer a speculation that Bernd Leno has a become Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper so Petr Cech is left to only play in competitions like Europa League and Carabao Cup. So Unai Emery will probably use Cech as a goalkeeper today.
Defence:
Unai Emery will probably use the 4-2-3-1 formation because he will be using many players that he doesn’t usually train with weekly. So Lichtsteiner and Jenkinsons will start as full backs today.
Central Midfield:
Maitland-Niles’ main position is the defensive midfield role but he has in the last few seasons been playing as a left back but he could potentially be played there with Mohamed Elneny so that Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka could get enough rest.
Attacking Midfield:
Joe Willock and Emile Smith Rowe impressed in the last Europa League game against Vorskla so Arsenal’s attacking trio will consist of; Willock, Ramsey and Smith Rowe. Mesut Ozil might be on the bench but will probably come into the game in the second half.
Striking:
Arsenal will probably give another chance to Eddie Nketiah today. Lacazette might be on the bench in case the gunners struggle against Qarabag.
