Unai Emery speaks out on Manchester United
Arsenal face Manchester United next in the Premier League and Unai Emery has commented on their opponent’s ahead of Wednesday’s encounter.
Arsenal’s next match will be against Manchester United who have struggled in the last five Premier League matches but Unai Emery will be hoping that they don’t underestimate them, like they did with the Wolves match. It would be disappointing for the Arsenal fans to celebrate the win against Tottenham Hotspur a few days back and later lose to the under performing Manchester United side.
This encounter has a lot of history and it’s pretty disappointing for Arsenal fans because it’s now been three years since the gunners last defeated Manchester United at the Old Trafford, and Unai Emery will be hoping that this mentality is not in his squad ahead of this game because football pundits and analysts have always said in the past that the Arsenal players always underperform against Manchester United because they are generally afraid of them.
Arsenal has so far played four top teams; Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. The gunners have won once, lost twice and drawn once in those four matches but what’s great about this season’s performance against the top teams is that Unai Emery faced the first two teams when he had not yet settled yet at the club. And since he has so far settled, he drew with Liverpool and beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has spoken about their match against Manchester United and he acknowledges how it’s another tough challenge ahead of them.
“It’s a new match, a new challenge, a big challenge. It’s away and we need to continue improving our mentality away.” Unai Emery told Arsenal Media.
“We know we need to change to get more competitive away. I think the team is doing that, but it’s a new challenge because we’re going to play against Manchester United away, and the challenge is bigger than other matches. For us, it’s a very exciting match.”
