Arsenal legend tells Unai Emery to make up his mind about something
Arsenal is this season under the management of Unai Emery after Arsene Wenger finally called it quits at the end of last season but it’s however disappointing that he has also failed to fix the defence of the North Londoners despite signing Lucas Torreira and Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the summer.
Arsenal is currently in the fifth position on the Premier League table and they would have been in the Premier League top four if their defence was putting on a good performance because their attackers are currently doing a good job because they have so far scored 46 league goals this season. They have however conceded 31 goals this season because their defence is shambolic.
Arsenal legend Tony Adams has said that he is not happy with how Unai Emery is confused about choosing a suitable formation that works well for his defenders. The gunners have this season been using different formations, he started using three at the back in October and November but it became weak after Rob Holding got injured and he sometimes uses four at the back.
Tony Adams believes that this is the perfect time for Unai Emery to choose his main formation because he keeps changing while the gunners keep failing to get clean sheets.
“I think the manager has gone three at the back, four at the back. He’s never had them settled. They’re not keeping clean sheets.” Tony Adams told BT Sport.
“Now he’s going back to a back four again. He can’t make up his mind. They need a settled back line and I don’t think he’s got it.”
This is Unai Emery’s first season at the Emirates Stadium and the Arsenal supporters will be hoping to see him finally get his first eleven and formation next season when they finally try to mount a title challenge in the 2019/20 campaign.
