Unai Emery to bench three Arsenal stars in the North London Derby

Arsenal will on Saturday face Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium and Unai Emery will probably make some changes.

The North London Derby takes place this Saturday and the on form Arsenal team will take on Tottenham Hotspur who have lost their last two matches vs Burnley and Chelsea. Unai Emery said after Arsenal’s win over BATE Borisov that he would be rotating his squad in the next few weeks and we have seen this in the matches against Southampton and Bournemouth.

So let us take a look at the players that will be benched in Arsenal’s next match as Unai Emery has said that he hopes to keep rotating his squad to avoid fatigue and injuries.

NACHO MONREAL

The left back was part of the 3 man defence of the North Londoners in their game vs Bournemouth but he will be going back to the bench if Koscielny and Kolasinac are fit because Unai Emery left Mustafi on the bench because he will be in the starting eleven that faces Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Arsenal’s back three will probably consist of Mustafi, Koscielny and Sokratis while Kolasinac plays as a wing back. So the Spaniard will certainly not be in the starting lineup.

MESUT OZIL

Mesut Ozil had an incredible performance in the Bournemouth match because he scored once and also assisted Henrik Mkhitaryan’s goal but we all know how Unai Emery believes that the German international doesn’t impress in matches vs the top six sides. Even though Ozil was influential last night, Unai Emery letting him play the full 90 minutes is a perfect hint of him getting benched on Saturday because he played full 90 minutes vs BATE Borisov and then got benched in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Southampton.

Mesut Ozil was not part of the Arsenal squad that beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 and Unai Emery will definitely be confident in going into this game without the German international despite him impressing in the match before.

MATTEO GUENDOUZI

We saw how good the Torreira-Xhaka partnership is last weekend when the gunners faced Southampton. Unai Emery said after the Bournemouth match that Granit Xhaka was rested and this could possibly be because the coach wants him to be fresh for the North Londoners.

The young Frenchman has been among Arsenal’s top performers this season but he is still inexperienced but has a lot of time to develop. Unai Emery will probably want to use the Xhaka-Torreira partnership in the North London Derby.
