Arsenal Vs Napoli Match Preview and Injury Updates
Napoli will this Thursday make a visit to the Emirates Stadium to play its UEFA Europa League quarter final encounter with Arsenal.
Arsenal will on Thursday welcome Italian side Napoli at the Emirates Stadium for the first leg of their UEFA Europa League encounter. Both of these clubs are favourites to win the competition so it will be an interesting match because it could potentially determine who will win this year’s UEFA Europa League.
Arsenal comes into this match after its Premier League top four hopes were once again shattered when they lost to Everton hence this making it important that the gunners need to also work hard in the UEFA Europa League because they are not assured of a Premier League top four finish.
Napoli is however in a good position in its league and is assured of UEFA Champions League football next season but it will of course be seeking European glory since it has no chance of winning the Italian Serie A. Napoli made a 1-1 draw at the weekend but it was because it rested some of its players for their upcoming match against Arsenal.
Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery is a UEFA Europa League specialist and will be hoping to win it for the fourth time this season because it would not only be a European trophy but also get them an automatic qualification to next season’s UEFA Champions League. The gunners will however have to work hard to achieve that by knocking Napoli out of the competition in the quarter finals.
TEAM NEWS:
Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin and Danny Welbeck will of course not be involved in this match because they are still on the sidelines. Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny are doubts for this match.
The gunners will however be happy to know that Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ suspension is over and his eligible to play against Napoli.
Napoli have received a massive injury boost as Insigne and Faouzi Ghoulam have returned from injuries ahead of the match against Arsenal.
