The truth behind Ozil and Monreal’s absence in the squad that faces Leicester City this weekend
Mesut Ozil and Monreal will not play in Arsenal’s match against Leicester City this weekend as reports claimed yesterday. The gunners will be hoping that their absence doesn’t affect them.

Mesut Ozil is not in the match day squad of Arsenal that will face Leicester City this afternoon and the club has released a statement which reveals why the German international and Nacho Monreal will not be involved in this match.

So according to the club, it seems like Mesut Ozil and Nacho Monreal got injured in training hence missing today’s match. Mesut Ozil was not in training on Saturday as the gunners made their final preparations of the game but the gunners will be hoping that he quickly comes back because the season is at its climax, and they will need all their players to be fit. Nacho Monreal absence might have been the reason why Unai Emery has not used a back three against Leicester City this afternoon.
Mesut Ozil was in the Arsenal squad that lost 3-1 to Wolverhampton and his absence might not have a lot of effect on today’s match because he has been poor in the away matches which the gunners have played this season, and Unai Emery also noticed this at the start of the season and started leaving him out of the match day squads which brought a meltdown in the Arsenal fanbase.
