David Luiz makes admission about his defending in game against Spurs
Arsenal defender David Luiz has admitted that he made some mistakes in the North London Derby but he claims that he will improve.
The gunners faced Tottenham Hotspur yesterday and the match ended 2-2 despite Arsenal having been two goals down. Arsenal defenders like Sokratis and David Luiz made some mistakes which saw Spurs go two goals ahead in the first half but Lacazette and Aubameyang rescued a point for Emery’s side.
Arsenal signed David Luiz from Chelsea in this summer transfer window and the gunners were hoping that he would transform their defence but it has also made some mistakes in the three matches that he has so far played. The Brazilian international was poisoned poorly when Tottenham Hotspur started their counter attack that got them the first goal but he has however admitted his mistakes.
David Luiz gave away a penalty last week and was also at fault in yesterday’s game and he said that he believes that the strikers did their job while them the defenders made a mistake that they shouldn’t have done and the gooners will surely appreciate that he accepts his mistake.
“The defenders have to take responsibility and take [criticism] in a good way, in a humble way. We need to understand when we make a mistake and say that.” David Luiz told Sky Sports.
“I’m going to try to do my best always. My game until the penalty at Liverpool was very good, especially for our first big game.”
“Today, even with pain I played the whole game and tried to show spirit until the very end.I am trying to improve with the team every single day. You have to be mature to understand this kind of moment.”
