Arteta speaks out on what Arsenal must do to beat Manchester City

The gunners will on Wednesday face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium and their boss Mikel Arteta has spoken out on how they can beat Guardiola's men.

Manchester City’s game against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium was supposed to be played a week back but it was however postponed since they were participating in the Carabao Cup final and so it has been rescheduled to be played on Wednesday. Arsenal’s new head coach Mikel Arteta is relishing the challenge of meeting his mentor, Pep Guardiola and has spoken out on what they must do to get a win.

Arsenal was embarrassed in the reverse game as they were absolutely dominated and were three goals down by halftime under Freddie Ljungberg but the gunners have since then improved after Mikel Arteta took charge of the club and he will be desperate for a win against the Citizens since it would increase their chances of getting to a UEFA Champions League spot.

Mikel Arteta worked under Pep Guardiola for three years and probably knows most of the weaknesses of that team and he has spoken out on what will have to be done for the gunners to walk away with all the three points. Arteta also however admits that his team and Pep’s aren’t at the same level.

“I think we have to be at our best, that’s for sure. You have any chance to win a game at the Etihad against those players, we have to be at our best.” Arteta told Arsenal Player.

“I think we are in two different processes and levels, at the moment we have to try manage those individually and collectively. We have to be at our best.”

Arsenal have not beaten a top six side since 2015 ( ironically a 2 nil win over Man City ) and if Mikel Arteta manages to end that stat in his first few months as the gunners boss then this will help him get more fan approval as its common knowledge that the North Londoners don’t perform well away from and especially against the big sides.
