Arsenal have in the last 12 months been linked with a move for RB Leipzig centre back Dayot Upamecano and the Premier League getting suspended has brought a lot of new reports saying that the club would like to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.

Most reports claim that Arsenal will be hoping to sign a new defender in the summer transfer window and they have identified Dayot Upamecano as the perfect candidate since he is a young, fast and great ball playing defender that would be fantastic in the philosophy that Mikel Arteta wants to bring to the Emirates Stadium. The Arsenal fans have been so happy to be linked with Dayot Upamecano because they believe he would be a great partner for their highly rated William Saliba who will be coming in next season.

The gunners might have however received a huge blow in their pursuit of Dayot Upamecano as a report by Sky Germany has confirmed that the young Frenchman will not be leaving RB Leipzig in the summer and that his current deal which was to expire in 2021 will be extended by just one year. The report says that Upamecano believes that this might not be the right time to leave RB Leipzig at the moment and so that he decided to stay to continue developing before getting his big move.

Upamecano has attracted a lot of interest from a number of Premier League clubs but Arsenal have however been the most interested club since it is common knowledge that the North Londoners will be looking to sign a high-profile defender in the summer to bolster their squad in order to either challenge for the title or finally get back into the UEFA Champions League since they have failed to get a Premier League top four finish in the last four years.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
