Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal begin talks with Barcelona’s attacking midfielder agent
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will want a new attacking midfielder in his squad and its now being reported that the gunners have begun talks with Barcelona’s Coutinho.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will try to improve his team in the upcoming summer transfer window and one of the areas that seriously need addressing is the attacking midfield (AM) position. Reports from France are now claiming that the gunners have identified Philippe Coutinho as the best candidate for this role.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta does not have any attacking midfielders in his squad apart from Mesut Ozil since most of them that do sometimes play in that position like Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock are more 8’s than 10’s hence the need for a player that could be a natural replacement for the German international who has been inconsistent in the last two years.
Philippe Coutinho moved from Liverpool to Barcelona in the 2018 summer transfer window in a deal that saw The Reds get a fee close to €160million but the Catalans have however regretted that decision two years later as the Brazilian international failed to settle and be integrated in their squad. Coutinho who will be heading back to Barcelona this summer will be pursued by Arsenal as per le10sport and the North Londoners have reportedly begun talks with his agent Kia Joorabchian who also happens to be a gooner.
The report claims that Arsenal’s boss Mikel Arteta will be waiting for the day he gets his hands on Coutinho and that he will be hoping to rejuvenate his career since it has taken a nose dive ever since he moved to Barcelona. The gunners would however have to hope of getting Coutinho on loan as they will not be able to afford the asking price of Barcelona. Coutinho was very impressive for Liverpool in the Premier League and so the Arsenal fans will hope that he replicates that form if he comes at the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
