Mesut Ozil has been at Arsenal for seven years now and he has helped the gunners to win three FA Cups but he has however underperformed in the last two years due to various reasons such as trouble with the head coach and age catching up to him. Ozil’s representative Dr Erkut Sogut has hint at when the German international will leave Arsenal.

Arsenal offered Mesut Ozil a new big money contract in the 2018 winter transfer window and he has however failed to perform consistently ever since then hence the club trying to push him out of the club through Unai Emery by having him not play him but the German international persisted to his stance of staying at the club past last year’s summer transfer window. Ozil is earning £350k a week now and his wages have definitely destroyed their wage bill as paying him that much with little output on the pitch has hurt the club.

Ozil has one more year remaining on his current contract at Arsenal and the club will probably be hoping to cut him from their wage bill by selling him in the upcoming summer transfer window and Fenerbahce has already been linked but his representatives have hint that he will only leave the Emirates Stadium in 2021 when his deal has run out.

“Mesut has a one-year contract. There will be no change in this regard. So what happens next, time will show. Mesut will be 32 years old and will have a few more years in his career. Mesut and his family will make a decision.” Dr Erkut Sogut told beIN Sports.

“I cannot speak about Mesut and Fenerbahce, because I have no right to speak on this matter according to the principle of confidentiality.”

The Arsenal fans will however be hopeful that maybe Mikel Arteta can be able to get the best out of Mesut Ozil in his last year here since his agent has basically said that he will not be leaving until 2021. Ozil has upped his game in the last recent games and so it will be interesting to see if he will be able sustain that.
