Report: The two demands that Willian demands before joining Arsenal
Arsenal have been one of the front runners for the signature of Chelsea winger Willian and the player has however set two demands that need to be met before he joins.
Arsenal will be with a low budget in the summer transfer window and so it’s expected that they will try to sign free agents when the transfer window opens, and so it has not been a surprise that the North Londoners have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea winger Willian.
Arsenal is one of the Premier League clubs that have suffered a financial hit due to the Coronavirus crisis putting an abrupt stop to all the leagues in the footballing world. The club will obviously have to adjust their summer transfer window plans and so it will only be logical to go for players that will be out of contract like Willian but it’s however been revealed that the 31 year old will have two demands before signing for Arsenal or any club that is interested in him.
ESPN claims that Willian will request for a three year contract and that he will also want £120,000 a week wages before he joins Arsenal. It is well known that these demands are also one of the reasons why Chelsea have decided to let his contract run out without being renewed because they were not ready to accept these two demands as he was quoted saying that the West Londoners offered him two years while he wanted three years. So it will be interesting to see if Arsenal will be able to accept these terms because they will be afraid of making another mistake as they did when they signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan and then now want him off their wage bill since he has failed to deliver.
The above report also mentions that Arsenal defender David Luiz who was teammates with Willian a year ago have a business together and that the family of the Chelsea winger have settled in London and so these are some of the reasons that he could consider to even make a move to a rival club like Arsenal in order to stay in London but the question is now; “Will Arsenal accept these two demands from Willian.”
