Bukayo Saka has broke out to the scene this season as he has scored thrice and also made 10 assists hence becoming one of the best performing players in this year’s Arsenal squad. The gunners have reportedly been trying to tie him down to a new contract for a long time and it looks like they might have made progress as per Arteta’s words.
Bukayo Saka was given his Arsenal first team debut last season by Unai Emery but he has however made many appearances for the gunners this season as the club decided to get rid of most of its senior players to give chances to the youngsters and the 18 year old has proven that this was a good decision as he has been impressive under Mikel Arteta in his first few months at the club.
After Saka’s recent impressive performances under Mikel Arteta, the young Englishman started to get linked with many clubs since his contract at Arsenal will expire in 2021 but Mikel Arteta has however given hope to the fans, saying that he believes that the contract situation will soon be sorted.
“I am very positive that everything is going to be done with Bukayo very shortly.” Mikel Arteta told reporters.
“The communications between the club, agents and the family has been going on for months and is very fluent.”
Saka has been linked to clubs such as Borussia Dortmund who are well known for giving chances to youngsters and so the Arsenal fans have been rightfully worried that the club’s current troubles would see them lose a young talented player but it looks he is close to signing a new deal as per the head coach. Bukayo Saka has been generally quiet about his future at the club apart from some statement he made in February in which he said that he had left everything to his agent and that he was just happy to be playing football.
