Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was once again the hero for the gunners as they defeated Manchester City 2-0 to progress to the FA Cup final and the fans have now started asking if he will be staying at the club. Mikel Arteta has provided a good update on the future of the Gabon international.

Aubameyang is Arsenal’s top scorer this season but the fans are however worried that they might lose him in this upcoming summer transfer window if he believes that the club isn’t going in the right direction and as of now, it’s believed that the club has offered him a new contract and he is yet to make a decision on whether he commits his future to the North London club or goes elsewhere to try to win silverware in the last years of his playing career.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta faced the press after the game against Manchester City and he was asked about the contract situation of Aubameyang as the fans would like to know since he had just led them to an FA Cup final. Arteta said that Aubameyang sounds pretty convinced when he talks to him and so this will give Arsenal fans hope that he will renew.

“Beautiful moments, they are better than the bad ones. When I speak with him, he sounds pretty convinced. But obviously if he can see that success & the direction we are taking is the right one, I think he will be more positive about it yes.” Aubameyang told reporters.

Arsenal have a big chance of qualifying for Europe next season as the winners of the FA Cup final are given a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stages and so as Mikel Arteta said, Aubameyang could renew his deal at the Emirates Stadium if suppose the North Londoners win the Emirates FA Cup hence also get a spot in a European competition.
