Arsenal have signed two youngsters in the last 24 hours who will bolster their U23 squad
Arsenal have signed two youngsters in the past few hours, the two players were snapped up by Arsenal for free after their clubs had released them.
Arsenal have signed 19-year-old midfielder Tim Akinola following his release from Huddersfield last month, according to The Athletic. The report states that Arsenal transfer chiefs Per Mertesacker and Lee Herron decided Akinola was worth the signing without requesting a trial.
Akinola is eligible to play for England and Nigeria, he will now play for Arsenal’s U23s for the upcoming campaign with the aim of developing into a first-team player in the coming years.
The other player is Jonathan Dinzeyi who was also released from rivals Tottenham and according to The Athletic Arsenal have also secured his services.
The 20-year-old plays as a defender and has been identified by former defender Per Mertesacker who’s in charge of youth development.
The two youngsters have no first team experience and will join the academy with the ambition to impress and hopefully join the senior side in the future.
The two will join George Lewis 19 who was signed in May from Norway and will feature for the academy.
