Former Arsenal star tells fans why they shouldn’t feel hatred towards Mesut Ozil
Former Arsenal star has spoken out on the current situation of Mesut Ozil and the club and has stressed to the fans on how no-one is benefiting from this.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has found himself in a tough position in the last few months as the club and Mikel Arteta have shown that they have no faith in him and that they want him sold while he on the other hand still wants to stay at the Emirates. Former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has sent some message to the fans over the situation of Mesut Ozil.
Mesut Ozil hasn’t been impressive for Arsenal since he signed that new long-term contract in the 2018 January transfer window and the club has hugely regretted offering him that deal as it saw him start earning £350,000 a week wages and the club has since last summer been trying to push him out to cut on the wage bill but their efforts have been futile for up to now.
Mikel Arteta’s arrival seemed to show that Mesut Ozil’s career had been saved but that hasn’t been the case as the German international did not play a single minute for the gunners when the Premier League returned in June to conclude the 2019/20 campaign. Lukas Podolski who was once a teammate of Ozil has sent a message to the Arsenal fans saying that the 31 year old isn’t a bad person as he never runs to the media to talk badly at the club and that there is no winner in this current situation.
“He’s a good character, not an asshole. He doesn’t do interviews where he speaks badly of his team-mates or Arsenal & it’s a shame we have this situation because everyone is losing, there is no winner.” Lukas Podolski told The Athletic.
It is still unclear what will happen with the new Premier League season being just a few weeks away but what’s for sure is that Mesut Ozil won’t leave Arsenal in this summer transfer window as he confirmed this in his latest interview.
