Arsenal is believed to have already reached an agreement with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a new contract that would see him stay at the Emirates Stadium for three more years and it’s also claimed that Willian will soon officially join them as well. It’s now been reported that these two deals could be announced as early as this week.
Aubameyang has been impressive ever since he put on the Arsenal shirt and after having an incredible season including vital goals that saw them win the Emirates FA Cup, it became a priority for the club to try to tie him down to a new deal before his mind got changed as there are clubs such as Barcelona and Inter Milan that were interested in him.
Willian officially left Chelsea yesterday and he has signed a three-year deal with Arsenal as per reports from many sources and the fans have been curious as to when these two could officially be announced. The Standard is now reporting that Arsenal will be looking to announce the signing of former Chelsea winger Willian this week after many weeks of speculations over the future of the Brazilian international and that Aubameyang will also put pen to paper to a new deal soon that will now see him start earning £250,000 a week wages.
The report also mentions that Aubameyang wants Arsenal to show ambition in the transfer market this summer and that he will be happy that the club has brought in Willian ahead of the 2020/21 season and it now looks like the contract renewal of the Gabon international and the signing of the Brazilian international could both be officially announced in this same week.
Chelsea were hopeful that they would convince Willlian to stay at Stamford Bridge but it’s reported that the 31 year old chose to make a move to Arsenal instead because they accepted to give him his desired contract terms.
