Arsenal fans receive bad news ahead of their season opener against Fulham
Arsenal’s Premier League season opening game against Fulham is just a few days away and the gooners have received bad news ahead of this game.
The Premier League returns in a few days from now and Arsenal will take on Fulham that just got promoted after the 2019/20 campaign. The gunners will of course be hopeful that they will start the season well with a win over Fulham but the fans will however not be happy with the referee that will be in charge of that match due to what he did last season.
Arsenal finished in the 8th position on the Premier League table last season and even though everyone does acknowledge that they were very poor in most of the campaign but it is still can be argued that they suffered a lot due to poor decisions from the on field referees and VAR at some times hence gooners having resentments towards some specific referees.
Arsenal fans have received bad news as Goal.com journalist Charles Watts has confirmed that Chris Kavanagh will be the on field referee in Arsenal’s Premier League season opening match against Fulham and the fans have reacted angrily as you would expect as they are still not happy with the decision he made in their 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium in the 2019/20 campaign. Chris Kavanagh gave a straight red card to Arsenal’s young striker Eddie Nketiah, just a few minutes he had came on due to a challenge that some gooners feel was 50/50 hence not needing for a player to be sent off.
The red card to Eddie Nketiah completely changed the match and Arsenal ended up drawing with The Foxes and the gooners have since then not been fond of Chris Kavanagh. Chris Kavanagh officiated in five Arsenal matches last season but the gunners only won once in those with it surprisingly being their 2-0 win over Manchester United at the start of the year.
