Arsenal receive good news in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey
Thomas Partey is Arsenal’s main summer transfer target and the North Londoners have received good news in the pursuit of the Ghanaian international.

Thomas Partey has been reported as Arsenal’s main summer transfer target since the transfer window opened but everything has been quiet in the last few weeks about the future of the Ghanaian international until now. The gunners have received good news in their pursuit of Thomas Partey after reports from Spain say that Atletico Madrid are on the lookout for a replacement.
Thomas Partey has reportedly shown his interest in joining Arsenal this summer but Atletico Madrid have been clear in their communication to the North Londoners as they want them to pay his full €50million asking price before they let go of him. The gunners reportedly offered a money plus player offer about a month ago but that was rejected by Atletico Madrid as they want Partey’s release clause to be paid and have in the meantime been trying to convince the player to sign a new long-term contract.
A report by Spanish outlet Marca is reporting that Atletico Madrid have identified Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca as the perfect replacement for Thomas Partey but that they will however have to wait for Arsenal to pay the release clause of the 27 year old before they can make a move for their transfer target. So this will come as good news to Arsenal fans as it shows that Atletico Madrid are preparing for the departure of Partey hence looking for a replacement.
Thomas Partey was offered a new contract by Atletico Madrid some few months back and he is up to now yet to sign it and so until he puts pen to paper to that, the gunners will still be confident that they can get him as domestic reports say that Arsenal could finally pay his release clause of €50million at the end of the transfer window after they have made some sales.
