Lacazette responds to reports of Arsenal including him in deal to sign Partey
Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has spoken out on the reports claiming that he would be used in a deal to bring Partey to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette was not impressive in the 2019/20 campaign and he has been heavily linked with an exit from the North London club in the past few weeks with some reports saying that he would be used in a deal to bring Thomas Partey to the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window. The French striker has today spoken out on his future and those rumours.
Alexandre Lacazette has been at Arsenal for three years now but he has however never made the centre forward position his as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined six months after his arrival. Lacazette was however impressive in his second season as he formed a great relationship with Aubameyang but was underwhelming in the 2019/20 campaign hence getting linked with an exit.
It is very known that Arsenal’s main summer target is Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and there was a report some weeks back saying that the gunners would include Lacazette in a swap deal to sign the Ghanaian international. Lacazette has confirmed that he wants to stay at Arsenal and that he wouldn’t be happy if the club tried including him in a swap deal to sign Thomas Partey.
“I am at Arsenal, I signed a 5-year contract to progress & win titles. I have another 2 years. I am determined to stay.” Lacazette told L’equipe
And about the reports of being used in a swap deal to sign Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey?
“If that is true, no, that does not make me happy.” replied the French international.
Lacazette has been linked with many clubs this summer such as Juventus and Lyon but it looks like he is committed to staying at the Emirates Stadium as per his above statement. It is believed that Arsenal are still interested in Thomas Partey and so it will be interesting to see if the gunners would still try to include Lacazette in a swap deal when he doesn’t want to leave the club this summer.
