Mesut Ozil indirectly sends a message to Mikel Arteta ahead of match against Fulham
Mesut Ozil has been getting dropped from the squad by Mikel Arteta in recent months and the player has now indirectly sent a message to his boss.
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has never played for the gunners since February as he was never given a chance in the team in the matches that took place post lockdown. It still not known if Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has changed his stance on the player as we get closer to the start of the Premier League but Mesut Ozil has today indirectly sent him a message.
Mesut Ozil not getting selected in matchday squads started in Unai Emery’s first season at the club and went on in his second but the Arsenal fans never thought that it would also happen under Mikel Arteta as the midfielder started in most Premier League matches under the Spaniard but he however was not given a single minute on the pitch after the league returned to conclude the 2019/20 campaign.
Mesut Ozil had an AMA session with the Arsenal fans on his official social media account and one Arsenal fan asked him if he will be available for their first game of the season which will be up against Fulham and he replied saying that he was indeed ready & fit, and also indirectly sent a message to Mikel Arteta saying that it is not in his hands to select who plays.
I’m fit & ready and doing my best. Unfortunately it’s not in my hands to decide about the squad on the weekend. We will see! #AskMesut https://t.co/E64eUzsr7j

“I’m fit & ready and doing my best. Unfortunately it’s not in my hands to decide about the squad on the weekend. We will see!.” Mesut Ozil wrote on Twitter.
The gunners were sometimes in the past saying that Mesut Ozil has not played in some matches due to an injury while he was fit and available and so it is interesting how he has taken it upon himself to confirm that it will have been a decision by the manager (Mikel Arteta) if he isn’t in the matchday squad that plays against Fulham on Saturday.
