Arsenal have been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as it was believed that the gunners would make improving their midfield their main priority but they are however still yet to bring in a new midfielder. Thomas Partey to Arsenal stories have been a bit quiet over the last few days but a new report from Spain has revealed some new information about this transfer saga.

Thomas Partey is one of the most highly rated midfielders in the world at the moment and Atletico Madrid have made it clear that they will not sell him until an interested club pays his release clause of €50million and this has proved to be a big obstacle for the North Londoners as they would have probably hoped to get him on a deal that would allow them to pay in installments as they have limited funds.

A report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has reported that Atletico Madrid are confident that they will keep Thomas Partey at their club for the 2020/21 campaign but that the Madrid club is however still fearful that Arsenal or Inter Milan who are also interested could make a bid later on in the transfer window as it still has more than 2 weeks until it gets closed. The report also mentions that Arsenal are indeed still interested in Partey because he is a player that Mikel Arteta loves and that the gunners have put some players on the market to raise funds that would enable them to get the Ghanaian international.

It will be interesting to see what changes in the next few weeks as it looks like Arsenal do not have the capacity to sign Partey for now due to low funds but the possibility of that changing is high as its reported that they are close to the selling of three players.
