Arsenal signed Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid last season and even though he had a poor first half of the season, he went on a good run of form under Mikel Arteta and was one of their best players that helped them win the FA Cup trophy for a 14th time. Dani Ceballos then left Arsenal and went back to Real Madrid and a new report has revealed how Mikel Arteta helped in bringing him back.

Dani Ceballos was not in Mikel Arteta’s first starting eleven when the Spaniard had just got appointed as the new Arsenal boss but the 22 year old worked hard to secure a place in the main starting eleven of the new coach. Ceballos and Xhaka formed a great partnership and so Mikel Arteta decided to continue using them for the rest of the season including the Emirates FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

It was not known whether Arsenal would try to sign Dani Ceballos for this season and a report by Marca is now reporting that Mikel Arteta was so determined to bring the Spaniard back to the Emirates Stadium that he convinced the hierarchy of the North Londoners to agree to the terms that Real Madrid wanted when discussing the deal with the gunners. It is reported that Arsenal wanted to sign Dani Ceballos on a loan deal with an option to buy but Real Madrid were not interested in that and the gunners eventually gave in to their terms as Arteta wanted the player no matter what.

Dani Ceballos has also been very clear in saying that he was increasingly happy to return to Arsenal for another season. It will be interesting to see how Arsenal will now lineup after the acquisition of Thomas Partey but most pundits believe that the midfield Arteta opts for will probably be; Xhaka, Ceballos and Partey.
