Arsenal made a visit to the famous Old Trafford on Sunday to face an on form Manchester United side that had just come off a blistering 5-0 win over RB Leipzig. Arsenal striker and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang led his team in the game against Manchester United as they searched for their first away win vs a big six side since 2015 and they were successful as they beat The Red Devils 1 nil.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came into this game after he had started receiving criticism for his lack of goals in the Premier League but he however went on the score sheet for the second time this season in the league by finishing off a penalty in the 69th minute. The goal by Aubameyang proved to be enough to get Arsenal all the three points as they defended their lead until the referee blew his whistle for full time.

Arsenal were not favourites to win in their game against Manchester United and Aubameyang was obviously happy that he led his team on their first win over The Red Devils at Old Trafford since 2006 and he also admitted that the win was very important. Aubameyang also spoke of how they defeated Manchester United, saying that they were a bit concerned when it finished 0-0 in the first half and that they then in the second half decided to defend as a team after going ahead thanks to his penalty goal.

“Very big (on the win). It’s been a very tough night but I’m really happy because the team played very well tonight. It’s been a long time without a win here, so of course it’s a big win.” Aubameyang told Arsenal’s official website.

“At half-time we were concerned we hadn’t scored but we knew that in the second half we had to score because we had some opportunists in the first half.”

“We managed the first half well and then in the second half we managed to score. After that, everyone wanted to defend as a squad. We did that well and I’m happy.”
