Martin Odegaard reveals what made him choose Arsenal over the clubs interested in him
Martin Odegaard has finally been announced as an Arsenal player and the Norwegian international has revealed what made him choose the gunners over other interested clubs.
Arsenal have completed the signing of Martin Odegaard on a six month loan and it’s been such an interesting deal as the gunners have been so fast in completing it as it went from them being interested to the player having chosen North London as his next destination in a space of a few days. Odegaard has revealed the person that made him choose Arsenal.
It was clear that Arsenal would need a new attacking midfielder in this January transfer window since Mesut Ozil was on his way out of the North London club and they were then provided the opportunity of getting Martin Odegaard on a loan deal after it was reported that he wanted to start playing elsewhere due to not receiving enough chances at Real Madrid.
The earlier reports on his future claimed that Martin Odegaard would be making a move to another Spanish club in this transfer window but the gunners then also entered the race for him, and before we know it, he has now been announced as an Arsenal player and he has come out to reveal what made him choose the Premier League side as his next destination. Odegaard claims that the call that he had with Mikel Arteta was very important in making him come to the Emirates Stadium.
“I spoke to him before coming here, of course. That was very important for me and he seems like a top manager and I liked his ideas, the way he sees football and also the way he is.” Martin Odegaard told Arsenal Media.
“He gave me a great feeling and that was important for me to come here. He was crucial.I think every time you go to a new place, you want to make sure that it feels good and that there is a plan. But I think everything here just seems good.”
