Mikel Arteta makes a big rant on VAR after Arsenal’s loss to Everton
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made a big rant on VAR after the decision that it made in his sides 1-0 loss to Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal welcomed Everton to the Emirates Stadium last night and Mikel Arteta’s men were hoping to get the three points to try to get closer to the Premier League top six but they were however beaten 1-0 thanks to a poor mistake from Bernd Leno. Despite losing the game, the gunners were once again disappointed by some decision by VAR and Mikel Arteta commented on it in his post-match press conference.
The gunners started off the game very well as they created the first chances of the game but the away side was able to keep the score at 0-0 until halftime. Arsenal pushed on their search for a goal in the second half and thought that they had got a chance to score the opening goal of the day after they got awarded a penalty but VAR had other ideas as it instead ruled that Nicolas Pepe was offside.
The match then continued and Mikel Arteta’s men went on to concede later on in the second half after Bernd Leno failed to catch a timid cross from Richarlison hence Everton going ahead. Mikel Arteta was obviously frustrated in his post-match press conference and made a rant on how he had enough of the VAR decisions that have happened to his side this season.
“Well, this is because it is building up and enough is enough, and today, to be fair, I had enough. We have had many of them, and no one explains.” Mikel Arteta told Arsenal Media.
“When they explain, they say, ‘sorry, it was a mistake’ but unfortunately it is affecting a lot of people, and it is affecting our job and most importantly our football club.”
