Arsenal will probably be among the busy Premier League clubs in this year’s summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta will continue his overhaul of the squad to continue molding it to fit into what he needs. Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Arteta has commented on those rumours.

Manchester City recently announced that they would part ways with Sergio Aguero at the end of this season and this has led to the start of many transfer rumours concerning his future since he is still a versatile striker that can score goals despite being 32 year old. There has been some reports claiming that Arsenal might be interested in signing the Argentine international in the summer transfer window and that they would hope to use Mikel Arteta’s friendship to progress the deal.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faced the media today and he was asked about these reports, and he apparently joked how they would have to see what happens in the future.

“No, no, no… we will see what happens with him in the future. Anybody that has been close to Sergio would say the same thing.” Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports.

“He has probably been the main face or one of the three main faces that has lifted that project.”

The reports linking Aguero to Arsenal has split the fan base of the gunners as some want the club to stop signing old players on high wages while the other half wouldn’t be opposed to the 32 year old coming to the Emirates Stadium since he is a proved striker in the Premier League. As for Mikel Arteta’s comments on the rumours, the Arsenal boss did not disapprove the rumours or either confirm them.
