Arsenal’s sale of Granit Xhaka to AS Roma reportedly gets stopped by one reason
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been heavily linked with a move to AS Roma and its now reported that the deal has come to a halt due to one reason.
It has been a well known fact that Granit Xhaka would love to leave Arsenal in this summer transfer window and he has been heavily linked with a move to Italian side AS Roma, who have reportedly made him their main target since Jose Mourinho is a big fan of him. Arsenal fans have just been expecting for the club to announce his departure but it’s however been revealed that Xhaka’s move is at a halt for one reason.
The gunners are interested in revamping their squad in this summer transfer window and its been reported that they have told AS Roma that they want a fee of €20million for Granit Xhaka since his departure will see them have to first dive into the transfer market to look for a replacement.
A report by La Stampa via Tuttomercatoweb claims that Granit Xhaka’s move to AS Roma in this summer transfer window has come at a halt after the Italian side has failed to meet Arsenal’s asking price of €20million and that the North Londoners have become firm in their intention of not letting go of the Swiss international until Mourinho’s team raise their current offer. This will however be a big blow for Xhaka as most reports have claimed that he is looking forward to playing to playing for Jose Mourinho.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days as rumours have claimed that Granit Xhaka is back in London after the holiday given to him after The Euros has ended. Xhaka’s future will certainly be clear as it was at the weekend reported that AS Roma wanted him to join them as soon as possible so that he can be in their training camp this week.
