Fringe Arsenal star reportedly earns a spot in Arteta’s lineup of season opener against Brentford
The Premier League will start in three weeks from now and its reported that a fringe Arsenal star has won a spot in Mikel Arteta’s first starting eleven to play against Brentford.

The start of the Premier League is just three weeks away and of course Arsenal like all the other clubs have begun preparations ahead of the start of competitive games. This is going to be an important season for Mikel Arteta as he is going to hope to silence the doubters since he has come under criticism for his side finishing 8th in two back to back seasons.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faced a lot of challenges in getting a consistent right back in his squad last season as the gunners kept shifting from three players throughout the whole campaign. Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares all played in this position for some time last season and it still wasn’t known who impressed him most in last season’s games.

A report by Football.London has confirmed that Arsenal right back Cedric Soares has impressed the coaches at the North London club in this pre-season and that Mikel Arteta will likely start him in their first Premier League game of the season which will be against newly promoted side Brentford. Cedric Soares first came to the Emirates Stadium on a loan deal but his transfer was however later made permanent but he didn’t get a lot of minutes last season.
It is not clear whether Arsenal will sign a new right back in this summer transfer window as it would be expected since various reports have claimed that Hector Bellerin is likely to leave the club as Mikel Arteta’s use of him showed how he might no longer trust him.
