Top football transfer expert speaks out on Arsenal’s chance of signing James Maddison
There has been reports in the last few weeks about Arsenal’s interest in James Maddison and a transfer expert has commented on the possibility of this happening.
Arsenal is in this summer transfer market looking for a central attacking midfielder since they failed to bring back Martin Odegaard who was in North London for just six months and so this has led them to many possible targets including Leicester City’s star James Maddison. The Arsenal fans are anxious to know if the club could be able to pull off this deal and a football transfer expert has commented on this.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reverted back to a 4-2-3-1 formation that uses a central attacking midfielder in December last year and the departure of Mesut Ozil & Martin Odegaard meant that the gunners had to dive back into the transfer market to get a new one since the club will not accept to start a new season with Emile Smith Rowe being the only option in that position.
Arsenal’s interest in James Maddison isn’t something new as the midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for years now but nothing has ever materialized from those reports, and football transfer expert David Ornstein has commented on the new rumours that claim that the gunners could sign the Englishman.
“There have been rumours about James Maddison – that’s not one I can see developing, I think that would be a huge stretch of Arsenal’s finances & I’m not sure it’s realistic, especially with Smith Rowe signing a new contract.”said David Ornstein as per Football Daily.
James Maddison has been impressive in the last few years in the Premier League and he fits the playing style of a no.10 that Mikel Arteta wants in his squad and the Arsenal supporters will be hopeful that the above transfer expert is wrong, and that they do get to sign the 24 year old.
