Arsenal releases list of five players that will miss the London Derby against Chelsea

Arsenal will this weekend face Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium and all eyes are on this game as the gunners will look to recover from an embarrassing loss to Brentford while Thomas Tuchel’s side will want to show that they are capable of being one of the big boys of the league. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be disappointed that the gunners will come into this game with a lot of injuries and the club has confirmed those that will miss in its latest team news.

1. ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette was not in the squad that faced Brentford in the season opening game because he had tested positive for COVID-19 and the latest news from the club has confirmed that the Frenchman won’t be back for the Chelsea game.

The club claims that Lacazette is still recovering and so he will definitely not be among the selected squad that faces The Blues who started the season off to a good start.

2. EDDIE NKETIAH

Arsenal young striker Eddie Nketiah got injured in a friendly game against Chelsea some few weeks back and the club has confirmed that he is hoping to return to action by early September.

3. GABRIEL MAGALHAES

Arsenal centre back Gabriel Magalhaes has a right knee injury which he sustained while he was in the camp of the Brazilian Olympic team and the club has confirmed that he is progressing well, and that he could return this month.

4. THOMAS PARTEY

Thomas Partey is a player that many would have been happy to have in the squad that faces Chelsea but he like the others won’t be available as he got injured in a friendly game against Chelsea earlier this month.

5. ALEX RUNNARSON

Alex Runnarson also tested positive for COVID-19 hence also missing the game against Brentford and the club has confirmed that he will miss even the game against The Blues.
