Arsenal completed the signing of Lucas Torreira in the 2018 summer transfer window and he has in recent times been away from the starting eleven of the gunners due to a loan and falling out of favour with managers. Lucas Torreira joined Atletico Madrid on loan last season but they didn’t permanently sign him hence him returning to the Emirates Stadium and Mikel Arteta has made a decision on his future.
Lucas Torreira was considered to be one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League in his first season at the club but he however lost that form after Unai Emery who was the manager of Arsenal at that time decided to try him in a different position than the one he is used to. Mikel Arteta became Arsenal’s manager later on but he was however was also not a big fan of Lucas Torreira as he let him be loaned to Atletico Madrid last season.
Lucas Torreira has returned to Arsenal this summer after his loan in Spain and a report by Football.London has now confirmed that Mikel Arteta has told the Uruguayan international that he isn’t in his plans for next season, and so the player is currently in talks with Lazio and Roma who are interested in him. The report claims that Torreira this time was looking forward to playing this season at Arsenal but he however wasn’t in the plans of Mikel Arteta.
