Revealed: Two reasons why Arsenal are yet to sack Mikel Arteta
Some Arsenal supporters have called for the club to sack Mikel Arteta since the Manchester City defeat and so we take a look at why this hasn’t been done.
Arsenal has lost its first three Premier League matches without scoring a single goal and this has seen the supporters call on the club to axe Mikel Arteta since they have had a poor start to the campaign. Some Arsenal supporters that wanted the club to sack Mikel Arteta were hopeful that he would be long gone by now but he is still here and we are going to take a look at three reasons why KSE hasn’t pulled the trigger.
1. ARSENAL IS YET TO FULLY SEE ITS NEW SIGNINGS IN ACTION
Arsenal have completed the signing of six players in the recently closed summer transfer window and since Mikel Arteta was not sacked before the transfer window begun, then the club likely planned with him these signings and they will now wait to see how he does after the international break when most of them are available to play.
Ben White who is Arsenal’s marquee signing of the summer has only played one game this season and Odegaard the same, and so the club will likely give him the chance to first use these new players before making a decision on whether to fire him.
2. MIKEL ARTETA IS THE PROJECT AND THERE’S NO ALTERNATIVES
Ever since Mikel Arteta arrived at the club in December, 2019, Arsenal fans have heard words about a new project beginning at the club as the hierarchy has publicly proclaimed that they believe that the Spanish coach could be the one to steer the club in the right direction and that all the fans needed to do was “trust the process”.
It’s however in time come out that all along the project was placed on Mikel Arteta as the hierarchy were so impressed by him that they even upgraded him from being a head coach to full manager hence giving him more powers since he was the project that they sold to the fans. Arsenal has been mismanaged in the last few years and so Mikel Arteta might not be sacked now as the club has no alternatives now due to the club not being glamorous as in the past hence them just “trusting in their process” to fix the current problems.
