Arsenal receive good and bad news in their quest to sign Moises Caicedo

Arsenal have been in the last few days been trying to sign Moises Caicedo before the transfer window closes and the gunners have received an update.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Moises Caicedo, the 21-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder currently playing for Brighton & Hove Albion. According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have made a second bid worth £70 million with add-ons included, but it has been immediately rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion.

The transfer fee would be a potential record fee for Arsenal if they were to make a new proposal in the next 48 hours. It is clear that Arsenal are keen to sign the young midfielder and are willing to pay big money for him. Caicedo is highly rated and has already made his debut for Ecuador’s national team. He has also impressed in the Premier League this season as he has been a regular for Brighton.

It is understandable why Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected Arsenal’s offer as they will want to get the best possible deal for their player. However, it is likely that Arsenal will make another offer in the next 48 hours as they are desperate to sign Caicedo and will not want to miss out on such an exciting prospect.

Arsenal have already signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton this season and it appears that they are looking to strengthen their midfield further with the addition of Caicedo. The club have been linked with several other players in recent weeks but it seems that they are now focusing all their attention on signing Caicedo before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be successful in their pursuit of Caicedo or if Brighton & Hove Albion will hold out for an even higher fee than what has already been offered by Arsenal. Whatever happens, it looks like we could see a potential record fee being paid by Arsenal if they decide to make another offer in the next 48 hours as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
