Arteta’s Arsenal reportedly makes a decision on Granit Xhaka’s future
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been impressive for the gunners this season and it’s now reported that the club might have made a decision on his future.

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Granit Xhaka over a new contract, as the Swiss midfielder looks to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Xhaka has been a key figure for Arsenal since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016, and has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s side this season. The 30-year-old is keen to remain at the club and talks have already taken place between the two parties over a new deal, according to 90min.
The midfielder’s future at Arsenal looked uncertain last season after he was stripped of the captaincy following an altercation with fans during a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in October 2019. However, since Mikel Arteta’s arrival as manager in December 2019, Xhaka has managed to completely turn his career around and has become one of the most important players in the squad.
The Swiss international has made 23 league appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists. He has been a key figure in midfield for Arteta’s side, helping them win various FA Cup trophies.
Xhaka is now looking to extend his stay at Arsenal beyond 2024 when his current contract expires and it appears that both parties are keen to get a deal done. It remains to be seen how much longer Xhaka will remain at Arsenal but it is clear that he still has plenty to offer the club.
