Dates for Arsenal’s Europa League game against Sporting Lisbon revealed

The Europa League round of 16 will soon begin and Arsenal have been drawn with Sporting Lisbon, and the dates for the matches have been released.

Arsenal have found out their opponents for the UEFA Europa League round of 16, and it is Sporting Lisbon. The Gunners were drawn with the Portuguese club in the round of 16 draw, and will now face them in a two-legged tie.

The first leg will be played at Estadio Jose Alvalade on Thursday, March 9, with the return game at Emirates Stadium to be played on Thursday, March 16. Kick-off times will be announced in due course.

This is not the first time that Arsenal have faced Sporting Lisbon in Europe. The two sides met have met in the past seasons and so Mikel Arteta will hope that them being familiar with the team will help them progress to the next level.

Sporting Lisbon are currently fourth in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and have been in good form this season. For Arsenal, this is a great opportunity to progress further in Europe and reach the finals of the competition in the hope of getting their first European silverware in years.

Overall, it promises to be an exciting tie between two teams who are both looking to make an impact on European football this season. It remains to be seen who will come out on top when these two sides meet later next month but one thing is for sure – it should make for an entertaining spectacle!
