The fan favourite Arsenal player that Arteta will bench against Manchester City

As Arsenal prepare to face Manchester City in a crucial game, Mikel Arteta must decide who should be benched. One player who should be benched is Gabriel Martinelli.

Trossard has finally scored his first goal for Arsenal in their 1-1 draw with Brentford, which further strengthens the case for him to start against Manchester City.

Martinelli is certainly blessed with plenty of pace but that attribute alone may not be enough against one of Europe’s top sides like Manchester City who have a lot of players that can be able to match his speed. Given current form and likely motivation of Arsenal needing all three points to retain their place at the top of the table, Arteta needs to bench Martinalli and play Trossard – a move which could potentially result in more firepower being unleashed in pursuit of victory at The Emirates Stadium.
