This Wednesday, Arsenal will face Manchester City in a title deciding match. The Gunners have led the Premier League since August but could lose their top spot if Manchester City wins on Wednesday since they are just three points ahead. This comes after Arsenal extended their winless run to three games on Saturday with a 1-1 home draw with Brentford.

Granit Xhaka, Arsenal’s Swiss midfielder, has made an upsetting statement ahead of this game which some fans believe doesn’t show confidence. He said telling The Standard: “If we are honest, we are not speaking about them (Manchester City). We are looking at ourselves, game by game. We didn’t win [on Saturday], we took one point. And Wednesday is big – for them, for us. So, let’s see.”

The pressure is on for Arsenal to perform and get the win against Manchester City in order to keep their place at the top of the Premier League table. This will be no easy task as Manchester City will give their all in this match as a win would let them take the first spot on the table for first time this season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been vocal about his team’s need to focus on themselves and not worry too much about what their opponents are doing. So maybe Granit Xhaka might be picking a leaf from his boss.

The match between Arsenal and Manchester City is sure to be an exciting one as both teams battle it out for the top spot in the Premier League table. It will be interesting to see how Granit Xhaka and his teammates respond under pressure and if they can rise up to the challenge of beating one of the best teams in Europe right now.
